08 Feb Staff Profile: Patricia Dziekan
This month we’re profiling the lovely and talented Patricia! Patricia has been with Line 21 for 9 years and is the other half of our admin team, with the lovely and talented Yasumi! These gals work smart to make sure that all materials are coordinated and work flows in and out as it should.
What you did before Line 21: Lots of things! I went to film school, worked at the airport, and ran my own cell phone and computer business. That was when Rogers was called Cantel and the “hot phone” was the Motorola 550 Flip Phone. It was an analog phone and we couldn’t keep it in stock, because it went out the door so fast. I see you can buy it on e-Bay now for about $45.
Favourite Part of the Job: Getting to see all kinds of projects that I would normally never have the chance to see as well as meeting clients face to face. We do most of our communication through email, so I don’t know what most of them even look like. Yesterday, I finally met someone that I’ve been working with for 9 years!
Favourite Projects you’ve worked on: Too many to remember!
Favourite Vancouver Restaurant and Why: I don’t have a favorite. One thing about Vancouver is that we have so many choices. I really love The Afghan Horseman. It’s unique and the food is delicious. If I’m in the mood for something more casual then I choose Raw Canvas. What’s not to like about drinking a little wine and doing a little painting?
Favourite Place to Travel: Once again, I can’t pick just one. I love Barcelona, Paris and New York. All of them have so much to see and each one is so unique. I’m sure I could stay in each one for a month and still not see everything. Of course the fact that the shopping is great in all of them doesn’t hurt either.
Funny Travel Story/Best Travel Memory: I was in Vegas when Tyson bit Holyfield’s ear. That was interesting! If you already think Vegas is insane you should have been there that night! During that same trip, the hotel I was staying in caught fire. I’m sure something else happened too, but what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, so I can’t say any more.
